The ground is broken and the first training center is going up. No, we have not received all the funds we need. No, we are not able to start all nine buildings at the same time as planned. No, we do not have the full funding even for this first building. No, we have no assurance from man that we will ever get the funds.
The ground is broken and the first training center is going up. Yes, the people are very excited. Yes, it is bringing new hope and vision to the Preasnet Preash (God Hears) school district of Banteay Meanchey Province. Yes, there is a vision and people are being energized to believe. Yes, it is a first step. Yes, this is really happening. Yes, Jesus will make a way for this and eight more buildings, and all the equipment, and all the trainers. And so, the wonderful faith life of the South East Asia Prayer Center continues.
Many years ago when we faced a $2 million need for Tibet and a $1 million need for Cambodia in addition to our other nation’s faith proposals, I approached our board about creating an investment strategy that would allow us to have all the money before we started a project. Our then Chief Financial Officer, Ken Martin, laughed and said, “Then it would not be by faith. God will give money to you as you use it and need it.” No truer words have ever been spoken. Then another of the Board members, who rarely said anything, laughed and said, “I suppose this will keep our focus on prayer.”
So to Ken Martin and Everett Foss I again say, “thank you.” Indeed we are in the midst of a $1.2 million step of faith and money is coming in and we are sending it and spending it. I do not doubt at all that in the Lord’s time we will have nine buildings completed, technology training established, and a copy of My Precious Book in the hands of each of 127,000 students and in their homes.
Please pray with us as we see the hand of the Lord make provision — $1.27 million and 127,000 children. In my thinking that comes down to $10 per child. I say it is a small price for redemption. The ground is broken. Let it be the ground of our hearts as we respond to the Holy Spirit to redeem a nation from the killing fields, poverty, caste systems, and fatalism.
