Kingdoms of This World

Global leaders believe that the success of Middle East Peace Plan, the Belt and Road Initiative, and the future of the European Union all rely heavily on the blessing of the Crown and strategic partnership with the United Kingdom.

What does that have to do with prayer, and furthermore with South East Asia Prayer Center?

Many of the decisions made inside the various buildings of England\’s Westminster government district have had a historical global impact. One bold declaration, inscribed in gold above the altar within the district\’s Westminster Abbey, reads \”The Kingdoms of this world shall become the Kingdoms of our Lord and Christ.\” The choice and action to submit their Kingdom beneath this charge—this decision to announce the Church\’s participation in the fulfillment of the prophecy given to John in Revelation 11 and further to release its commissioning throughout the Kingdom directly descending from King and Queen knelt at the altar to missionaries spread across each continent—changed the world. It created avenues for global exchange, platforms for technological advancements, and opportunities for common good among the nations.

I was recently asked by an independent review commissioned by the foreign office to visit Westminster Abbey to give testimony of Christian persecution. The church beautifully boasts 1,000 years of history and its massive collection of 3,300 crypts can leave any weary traveler dizzy. I looked for the engraving at the altar while I was there. To my surprise, neither the minister on that day nor the curator were aware of the inscription or could locate it. We approached the altar and found a cloth veil, displayed for the Easter season, completely covering it. Not being permitted to remove the veil, the curator led us to photo collections of the Abbey where a recent picture of the altar revealed the truth. “Look here,” he said with joy. “It is actually written on the altar. May the Kingdoms of this world become the Kingdoms of our Lord and Christ.” Amazed, he shook his head and thanked us for bringing this to his attention.

After meeting the leadership at the Abbey, my colleague and I decided to take some time to pray. Questions filled my spirit, \”Does every great global vision for righteousness really begin with prayer? What prayer meeting took place in this sanctuary that fueled the Kingdom\’s desire to fill the earth with righteousness? How many times did revival come to the United Kingdom to bring new life and to restore righteousness to this vision? Could it happen again? Is it happening now, and are we a small part of it?\”

In 2018 SEAPC registered as a charitable organization within the United Kingdom. Many friends asked me why. I had to ask myself, \”Are we doing this to find additional human and material resources to complete the health and education responsibilities we have in the nations? Is this to boast in the expansion of the organization and its success? Even worse, are we going through these efforts because my wife loves London and has a very cute and healthy love for the Royals?\”

The truthful reason behind SEAPC\’s focused prayer for the United Kingdom came to me in 2012, while our family was submitted into City Harvest School of Theology in Singapore. At that time, our dear friend Oi-Yin Sung entered into our lives and introduced the current spiritual needs of London, her hometown, into our lives. She has a passion for Christ and a similar missions heart, upbringing, and commitment to serve Him. We became fast friends, and a vision to mobilize prayer in the UK was birthed in my heart. Oi-Yin has served SEAPC masterfully in many varied capacities since 2012 and has caused this ministry to grow in many ways, including the official registration and launch of SEAPC UK.

This July we return to London, with friends from the nations, to pray for God\’s mighty spirit to revive the vision of His Kingdom\’s reality among His people. Jesus spent most of His teaching ministry on the earth describing this Kingdom of Heaven that The Revelation speaks of. It is an eternal Kingdom that is full of righteousness, peace, and truth; a Kingdom He would make available to all men who would receive Him.

July 1-7, we will make the prayer journey from Winchester to Salisbury, walk across Bristol, and release the Glory of God, delivering His grace and compassion to those in need and attending several planned events. Please join us in prayer and stand with us to believe that this generation across the UK will decide to submit their lives into a greater Kingdom and through that unite the nations in righteousness, peace, and truth.
