Ignite the Awakening
You put 25 people on a bus. Thirteen of them are from a church in Tapachula, Mexico, the northwest terminus of the Mayan Trail. Then you add three North Americans and a Guatemalan. Bring pastors and prayer warriors from six Mexican states and you have a group of prayer people who really believe that this trip will ignite the flames of awakening in Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, and Belize.
Have them supported in prayer by thousands in North America and Canada. Then have powerful prophecy released throughout Hispanic Christianity that, in the days from June 17 through July 28, the Lord is going to cause an awakening among the Spanish-speaking churches in the Americas. Now you can begin to see the big picture of Pray Americas.
At the same time, place signs in the skies: a double rainbow over the campus of Florida State University where campus ministries have doubled this year and the alignment of Jupiter and Venus to form the “Bethlehem Star,” an event which occurs every 2,000 years. Even the most faint-hearted prayer person may utter a bit of “Thy Kingdom Come….”
The Mayan Trail Bus Tour was one of the most enjoyable prayer journeys of my life. The unity on that bus was wonderful. The way the people loved and encouraged each other was amazing. A bus can be close quarters, and different food and places to stay can wear on the nerves of the most experienced traveler. But these 25 were truly amazing. At every stop they ministered the love of Jesus, prayed for the sick, went house to house, and demonstrated the love that has touched their hearts.
Indeed, awakening will come, and these nations will be transformed.
