Where was your first international trip? How old were you?
My first international trip was to Jamaica with a group of students from my college when I was 19 years old. We stayed and worked at a children’s home about 45 minutes outside of Montego Bay.
What initially inspired your heart for missions?
I had always wanted to go on a mission trip and during my first trip to Jamaica seeing the joy in the children and staff despite their physical and spiritual needs made me want to keep going back there as well as go to other places to help people realize how valuable and loved they are by God.
Where is the most memorable place you have prayer walked and why?
Cambodia. I was prayer walking on school grounds in rural Banteay Meanchey praying that the students would come to know Jesus. There were two sides to the school, on the one side others from my team along with the nationals were teaching their classes English personal pronouns and passing out books that had Bible stories both in their language and English. There wasn’t enough of us, however to go to the other side and teach there too. I prayed that somehow the kids on the other side of the school would come to know Jesus and maybe a minute later I found out that we had the exact number of these books to be able to pass them out to each of the kids on the other side of the school. And that is exactly what we did. God instantly answered my prayers. It was a very powerful experience.
